Piping & Infrastructure
Recent Developments in Rehabilitation of Pipework and Offshore Equipment
(30 April 2003, Centre for Composite Materials Engineering, University of Newcastle, UK)
This one-day workshop dealt with important issues affecting the industry in relation to pipeline repair and, in particular, the new generation of ‘engineered’ repair solutions that is now available. All the major problems of repair and life extension of corroded and damaged plant, using composite materials and other solutions were addressed at this meeting, which included contributions from some of the world’s leading suppliers of rehabilitation services. The conference covered Design and qualification of repairs; External composite repairs; Repair logistics; Internal lining techniques; Underwater repair and coating; Chemical treatments; Economics of life extension; Inspection, integrity and remaining life.
New Solutions for Rehabilitation of Pipework
(6 February 2002, Aberdeen, Scotland)
A one-day conference held in Aberdeen and attended by 70+ engineers and asset managers in the oil, gas and water industries. The meeting addressed the major problems of repair of corroded and damaged systems using composite and other solutions.
Piping & Infrastructure: New Solutions for Rehabilitation & New Build
(10 - 11 April 2001, Centre for Composite Materials Engineering, University of Newcastle, UK)
Aimed at engineers and managers interested in the cost-effective repair of corrosion, upgrading of existing infrastructure and new-build with composites. The light-weight and non-corroding properties of composites offer novel solutions in all areas of asset management. Relevant industries included oil, gas and water, as well as all parts of civil engineering and transport infrastructure.
Rehabilitation: Piping and Infrastructure
(24 - 25 March 1999, Centre for Composite Materials Engineering, University of Newcastle, UK)
The conference addressed the major problems of repair of corroded and damaged systems. The full range of possible solutions to the repair problem was discussed, including the use of metallic, polymeric and composite repair methods.
